The atmosphere was relaxed, calm, easy and pleasant. Senators Starr, Doyle, Nitka, Brock and Flory were present.
The hearing drew about two dozen attendees, of which 13 spoke. Because of the small numbers, each speaker was given five minutes. And at the end we had another opportunity to add to our remarks.
Five speakers spoke in favor of consolidation of various degrees. In addition to myself, seven others spoke in favor of parent choice, including included two members of the West Windsor school board and one from the Bellows Falls board.
So ... lots of reasons to feel good about what's happening with the Senate committee. Let's hope the next few meetings follow the same pattern!
