Vermont School Choice Map

TUITIONING IN TOWNS WITHOUT SCHOOLS
Vermont has a diverse educational landscape, including extensive use of "tuitioning" in towns that do not have schools for particular grade levels.  See the  map below for a broad overview of those communities.  See How School Choice Works in Vermont for details on how tuitioning or having a designated school works.

The State Board of Education has compiled a very detailed  map of tuitioning towns.  If you are looking at this information in order to relocate to a Vermont town that offers school choice, confirm all information with the town clerk or local school board.

SCHOOL CHOICE IN TOWNS WITH SCHOOLS
Vermont Act 150 allows for regional "choice" districts. You can learn more about Act 150 here. ** Note that in 2012 the legislature overhauled limited school choice in communities with schools. This information will be updated soon.
